Will modern software for the deaf improve interpersonal communication?

We have good information for the deaf. One of the companies whose employees deal with the creation of software based on augmented reality has completed a project dedicated to the deaf. What is this project about? Programmers designed smart glasses thanks to which deaf people are able to “see the sound”. Sounds impossible? Perhaps for the doubters and those who do not recognize the momentum of civilization it would seem unreal. However, programmers are already able to convert sound into picture! The goal of this endeavor was to convert speech into subtitling. All this to improve the quality of life for deaf people. Importantly, they developed this phenomenon in such a way that it is feasible in real time. In short, thanks to this technological innovation, deaf people will be able to see what people without sign language are saying. Modern software for the deaf will soon improve the quality of life for many people.

Technology that enables communication with the deaf without sign language!

Until recently, only sign language was used to convey information to a deaf person. Due to the fact that it is relatively difficult, few people know it. What does this result in? First of all, the lack of proper communication with a deaf or hearing-impaired person not only lowers the self-esteem of such people, but also causes that they do not develop properly, have a poor vocabulary and low verbal competence, and limited knowledge in many areas. This leads to gradual exclusion and unjust stigmatization in society. People generally lack empathy and emotional intelligence to want to understand the issue at hand. Fortunately, the developers have developed the software that we need to interface with the device on our Android. We also need special Nreal AR glasses for this, thanks to which the deaf person will literally see the words of the interlocutor in his field of vision!

3. Software in an early stage of development

Remember that the software in question is still in the early stages of development, and developers will constantly strive to improve it. So far, we do not know exactly when the product will appear on the market and when it will be generally available. Manufacturers, however, declare that they are already pre-registering those who plan to buy the product. Software dedicated to the deaf can be implemented on a smartphone. Using the microphone, we will record all conversations conducted within the user. Later, the system will convert them into written words that will appear in front of the eyes of a deaf person who will have the glasses. The only question mark so far is the issue of the functioning of the software in unfavorable conditions, i.e. in hustle and considerable noise. Also, conversations in the background of many people – at a party or at school – can be a challenge in “capturing” specific sentences of the interlocutor. The programmers have already assembled a promotional video, visualizing the potential use of the invention they are developing. So everything is ahead of us! Modern software for the deaf is within our reach!
