Ashwagandha, also called Indian ginseng, is a herbaceous plant whose roots and berries are used in Ayurvedic medicine, traditional Indian medicine. What is ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is used in natural medicine as an adaptogen, i.e. a substance that helps the body cope with stress and regulates the functioning of the endocrine system. Ashwagandha also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, helps regulate blood sugar levels, and may improve immune system function.

Research suggests that ashwagandha may have positive effects on mental health, including reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. It can also improve brain function, including concentration and memory.
