Until recently, it would seem that the American brand of electric and luxury cars Tesla would dominate the market among this type of vehicles. It turns out, however, that not only American manufacturers have such cars to offer. Chinese manufacturers have recently announced a grand entry into the European market of their NIO brand, which also specializes in electric cars. The first European country where Chinese NIO cars appeared is Norway. Chinese manufacturers also offer maintenance services, so such compact activities are a great offer for European users. Chinese electric NIO is slowly making a career in Europe.
Not only in Norway…
The first electric car offered by Chinese manufacturers is the ES8 SUV model. In 2022, the range is to be expanded by NIO’s flagship product, i.e. Seden ET7. The leading showroom of their sale is to be opened in the aforementioned Scandinavian country at the end of 2021. Where exactly? In Oslo, right next to the Karl Johans Gate, right in the cultural center. It doesn’t end there. As early as 2022, NIO producers plan to open more showrooms in cities such as Stavanger, Bergen, Kristansand and Trondheim. What’s more, the Chinese, in addition to NIO car dealerships, also offer maintenance services of this brand. In the following year, the producers will take care of after-sales service throughout the country, but until it is gone, NIO producers will take care of the mobile service. Thanks to the above possibilities in terms of potential technical support, the Chinese electric NIO has a real chance to compete with the American Tesla.
Electric cars are not all that the NIO brand offers us
An important issue in the context of electric cars is, of course, battery replacement, which is, after all, the driving force of the car in question. Recharging such a battery is not time consuming. The originators of the Chinese brand NIO have expanded their offer with stations serving the owners of these electric cars. These stations are equipped with replaceable batteries, while the process of replacing the car battery itself takes as much time as refueling a classic combustion engine car. The project in question, by definition, even increases the likelihood of more buyers for electric NIO. The potential owner of such a car will not be immobilized if the battery runs out. It is estimated that by the end of 2022, the Chinese will create four NIO Power Swap stations, which will be located on the leading and most frequented highways. In this way, it will be possible to connect the most important Norwegian cities.
To paraphrase the words of the founder and CEO of the NIO brand Lihong Qin, Norway should be considered a sustainable country that does not shy away from innovation. These features, therefore, make it possible to fit into the vision of the Chinese economy.
NIO on the European market
It is worth noting that the Chinese electric NIO has been on the European market for quite a long time. However, not so much on the market as structurally. How is it in practice? The design center of the brand in question is located in Munich, while the capital of NIO development and research is Oxford. An example of an electric car from a Chinese brand that will operate in Europe is the Zhiji L7 with the common name “Alibaba car”. The electric vehicle market is growing incredibly fast in Europe, given the promotion of an ecological lifestyle. Despite the growing competition in this matter, Chinese electric NIO has a good chance of dominating the market. Manufacturers have chosen a strategy based on quality at a reasonable price. This brand will soon reach a large group of consumers.
