Can a snow clearing robot replace a human?
Artificial intelligence products are getting more and more surprising. Until recently, it would probably be absurd to say that clearing snow from roadways and sidewalks can be “in the hands” of a fully independent device. Today, however, it turns out that we can replace a man in the breakneck snow removal operation in this respect. There is already a snow clearing robot at our disposal. programmers in such a way that it can fully independently clear snow, even from large areas, for over 1.5 hours without a break!
Flexible equipment for any surface!
If we program a snow removal robot, it can automatically clear 500 square meters of snow. After the batteries are exhausted, we charge the equipment for about half an hour and after this activity it will be fully ready for operation again. Interestingly, initially AI specialists thought it was possible to produce a robot that would only be able to function on hard surfaces. The creators were also convinced that the robot would only be able to cope with terrain that would not contain any obstacles. However, it turned out that the device is able to work even on sandy surfaces.
The programmers have constructed the robot in such a way that it adjusts the speed of operation to the height of the snow cover it has to throw away. Therefore, if the cover would be high, then the device slows down dramatically to thoroughly clear the area of snow. A special radar allows the robot to work so efficiently and independently. Thanks to it, detecting obstacles and stopping is not a problem for the device. In addition, an additional advantage is that the equipment is equipped with a special system that blocks work. In case the snow brushes become contaminated with debris or branches. The weight of the robot varies around 65 kg, and its cost determines the amount of implemented equipment and functions. In any case, at the moment, the price is between two and three thousand. dollars.
