What is life science? What does this industry do?

If we want to define the field of Life Science in the simplest way, let us pay attention to the English translation of this phrase. Life science is the advanced science of living organisms. However, it is a synthesis of several disciplines of modern science, which include: biology, genomics, biotechnology, proteomics, biopharmacy, biomedicine and bioinformatics. The confrontation of the fields of science we have listed is becoming more and more fruitful and bodes well for the future in the field of new inventions.

We are aware that the majority of people are absolute skeptics about this type of knowledge, wanting to feed on the illusion of security in the knowledge that has so far been provided to them by school textbooks and the so-called. authorities. What’s more, such people in their audacity often mock modern science, do not accept novelties and the fact that the world is really moving forward! We had to deal with a festival of audacity and social discord quite recently, when the authorities of the countries most susceptible to manipulation guaranteed people’s safety after vaccination against covid-19. Skeptics and people looking for the “second bottom” were often called “foilers” or even (ironically) “flat earthers”. right? It is certainly worth getting to know the research under the patronage of the most prestigious centers in widely developed countries. What is life science? What is the likely future of humanity?

How do we divide the science life industry?

The field of life science is divided by scientists into several branches:

  • biology;
  • medicine;
  • other, NEW ISSUES, which in less developed countries are little or not mentioned at all and refer only to the knowledge contained in the so-called authorities (doctors, professors of science) in publicly available scientific treatises.

The last branch we mentioned focuses on elements common to most organisms (e.g. genetics), while implementing new technologies. We list among them:

  • biotechnology, i.e. all biological systems thanks to which we protect the environment;
  • bioengineering; is a branch of biotechnology through which we answer questions in the field of economic and technical issues. These issues concern biotechnological processes that we conduct on an industrial scale;
  • related sciences, e.g. bioethics. As the name says, it is an interdisciplinary science with an ethical dimension. We assume here which activities in research on living organisms are acceptable and which are controversial;
  • even several dozen other specific sciences in which we use modern and extremely expensive laboratory tools, for example: microscopes, microplate readers, etc.

One thing we can be sure of. The goal of interdisciplinary science, which is life science, is to significantly improve the living standards of the population. To improve this standard, by definition, the earth’s population should also be reduced, and many activities should be robotic and automated.

What is the impact of this field?

The field of life science is primarily intended to improve the quality of life. Among the examples of goals that we can mention in this field are:

  • development of new and effective drugs;
  • implementation of advanced medical equipment;
  • treatment using stem cells;
  • recognition of the genotype of the individual;
  • in vitro fertilization;
  • the possibility of early diagnosis of diseases and effective treatment of the patient without side effects;
  • improving the lives of older people;
  • enabling the population to use modern devices, thanks to which we will be able to check our health on our own.

The development of the Life Science industry requires qualified employees with directional education, of which there are still far too few. Among other things, it is in this field that earnings are among the highest on the world market.
